National Seniors Australia Luncheon

National Seniors Australia – Toowoomba branch is another group that Yvonne is heavily involved in. She plans many of their trips and activities to neighboring cities. I attended one of their luncheon meetings and got a free brunch out of it. In return, they recruited me to take some photos for them.

It was interesting to see how active many of the seniors are, especially those in their 80s. I don’t know if there are similar groups like this in Hawaii, but I think it’s a wonderful way for retirees to continue being social after they leave the workforce.

From what I gather, the group meets once a month and each luncheon has a guest speaker who talks about various topics of interest. The members socialize with one another and go away on these excursions if they choose. They take donations for various causes and help in the community. It’s pretty great!
