Put Up Your Dukes

Boys will be boys, even when they’re wallabies. At any time during the day, you might find a few of the guys dukin’ it out with one another. It’s part play and part practice for the real thing.

The boys stand up on their legs, grab each other around the shoulders and push at one another like sumo wrestlers. While holding on to their opponent, they also jump up and try to kick at his midsection.

When they get older, some of these boys will challenge the mob’s alpha male for leadership and mating rights in the mob. Until then, they sharpen their skills by sparring with anyone and everyone.

  1. Wait. A group of Wallabies is called a mob? That’s just wonderful.
